Android 6.0 Marshmallow update is out and about. There are many ways to flash Android 6.0 Marshmallow on your Nexus device. If you want to start fresh, then you can download the Marshmallow factory image and flash it on your Nexus to enjoy Android 6.0.
An easier way is to update automatically from your phone. Google is releasing Marshmallow OTA updates now and your phone should receive any time now. Go to Settings > About Phone > Software Updates and a notification that Marshmallow is available should appear.
If you haven’t received the notification yet, then there is another easy way which again, involves OTA files. The official Android 6.0 Marshmallow files have been captured. This means that if you are stuck on Android 5.1.1, you can download the OTA zip file and flash it using the stock recovery.
How to flash Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA ZIP file
In order to flash a zip OTA file, you need to be completely stock. This means that you shouldn’t be rooted and you need to have stock recovery, not a custom one.
