  1. Download SuperSU root file on your Nexus 6P (download).
  2. Turn the phone off and boot into recovery mode. To do so, press and hold volume down and power buttons to boot into fastboot mode. There, select recovery.
  3. Now that you are in recovery mode, go to Install and choose the SuperSU zip file.
  4. Flash the file.

Once you flash SuperSU, reboot your Nexus 6P. Go to the app drawer. You will notice a new app called SuperSU. This is the app that will allow you to use root apps and modify the Android firmware.
