Root is a popular term among Android users. It is the most used word for those who like trying new adventures with their devices. Android is already open and you can do many things without root. Installing a custom launcher or special apps do not require root access.
But if you want more than that, for example if you want to greatly enhance the experience of your Nexus 6P, then you need to gain root access and install SuperSU. With root access you can make your Nexus 6P even faster, improve battery life and install special apps that require root access like Titanium Backup.
Fortunately, rooting the Nexus 6P is an easy process. To do so, you need to have an unlocked bootloader and a custom recovery installed. You can find everything required below.
How to root and install SuperSU on Nexus 6P
- Download SuperSU root file on your Nexus 6P (download).
- Turn the phone off and boot into recovery mode. To do so, press and hold volume down and power buttons to boot into fastboot mode. There, select recovery.
- Now that you are in recovery mode, go to Install and choose the SuperSU zip file.
- Flash the file.
Once you flash SuperSU, reboot your Nexus 6P. Go to the app drawer. You will notice a new app called SuperSU. This is the app that will allow you to use root apps and modify the Android firmware.
