T-Mobile is on the right track right now, updating a huge number of devices to the latest version of Android 5.0 Lollipop. There is a huge chaos every time a new Android version gets released. OEMs and carriers work all day and all night to secure the much requested update to make their customers happy.

In the past, carriers have not been very quick when it comes to software updates. I can mention a long list of flagship Android devices that took months to enjoy a major software update. In fact, some of them have never been able to receive a major Android update.

But things have changed drastically lately and Google has made it a lot easier to update devices. T-Mobile, one of the biggest phone carriers in the US has rolled out the Lollipop update to a bunch of devices already and more phones are receiving it everyday. One of the latest devices is the T-Mobile HTC One M7.

The T-Mobile variant of the HTC One M7 has been officially updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop firmware with Sense. The update brings lock screen notifications, enhanced privacy features, new recent apps page and the ability to search within the settings menu.

There are two ways of updating the T-Mobile HTC One M7 to Lollipop. The first method which is also the easiest, is to go to Settings > System Updates and tap on “HTC Software Update”. Tap on “Check Now”. If the OTA is available, you will be able to download the update. If your phone doesn’t show the update button, do not worry. HTC has also provided the RUU firmware file so you can enjoy the Lollipop update even though you can’t download it directly from the settings menu.
