Google recently announced the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL. Both come with the latest Android variant which is Oreo with version number 8.0. As we have mentioned before, Oreo brings many new features and changes to the table compared to Nougat, and one of those changes is the brand new Google launcher.
There is a huge difference between last year’s Pixel launcher and this year’s. The biggest change is the reposition of the Google search bar. Instead of being at the top, the Google bar is now located at the bottom, beneath the app dock. This makes it easier for users to quickly search something on the phone or online.
The Oreo launcher can now be installed on other devices, as users have published the APK file online. It can be installed on phones running on 7.0 Nougat, 6.0 Marshmallow and even 5.0 Lollipop. It doesn’t require root access and you can install it as a simple APK app.
