How To Take a Screenshot on the Xiaomi Mi 11

Xiaomi has included three different methods that users can use to take a screenshot on the Mi 11. The first method, which is also the most popular one, is the traditional way of pressing two hardware keys at the same time. The two other methods include Xiaomi’s own software to make it even easier.

1. Mi 11 Screenshot – Hardware Keys

The first method to take a screenshot on your Mi 11 is to use the physical keys located on the side of the phone. This is the traditional method that is used the most.

  1. Grab your phone and go to the screen that you want to screenshot.
  2. Press the power button and volume down button at the same time. Do not release the keys until the screen flashes white.
  3. The screenshot image will be saved in your phone’s gallery app, inside the Screenshots folder.

2. Mi 11 Screenshot – Notification Toggle

Another way to take a screenshot on your Mi 11 is to use the notification toggle. This is a good method to use if the hardware keys of your phone are broken or do not work for some reason.

  1. Go to the screen that you want to take a screenshot.
  2. Open the notification panel and find the screenshot icon (it usually is a scissors icon).
  3. Tap on the icon to take a screenshot.
  4. The screenshot image will be saved in your phone’s gallery app, inside the Screenshots folder.

To enable Assistant Menu, go to Settings > Accessibility > Interaction and dexterity and tap on the Assistant menu. A small circle will appear. Tap on the circle. A number of options will appear. Tap on Screenshots. The screen will flash white, indicating that a screenshot has been taken.

3. Mi 11 Screenshot – Three-finger gesture

If for some reason you don’t want to take a screenshot on the Mi 11 using the hardware keys are the notification toggle, then you can use the three-finger gesture. This is a built-in functionality on Xiaomi phones.

To enable the Three Fingers gesture, go to Settings -> Advanced Settings -> Button and Gesture Shortcuts -> Take a Screenshot. There will be an option called “Slide 3 fingers down”. Tap on it to select it. Now swipe three fingers down to take a screenshot. The phone will vibrate to indicate that the task has been accomplished.
