Why You Should & Shouldn’t Buy Samsung Galaxy Alpha (Reasons)

Top reasons why you should buy and at the same time, why you shouldn’t by the Samsung Galaxy Alpha. Samsung has always been criticized for using cheap plastic materials on its flagship phones starting with the original Galaxy S and until the Galaxy S5 and also the Galaxy Note until the Galaxy Note 3.

All these Samsung devices are built with plastic materials which many people consider them as cheap and low quality. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 ditched the glossy and shiny back cover of previous devices for a higher quality leather like cover. The texture was called Faux Leather and it  was again plastic which looked like leather.

The same thing happened with the Samsung Galaxy S5. Samsung’s current flagship device did the same thing as the Galaxy Note 3 and used a fake leather back cover but this time it was softer and more leather like. The main issue actually are the fake metallic silver bezels. As the name says, the bezels are plastic designed to look like aluminum. The problem with these bezels is that they get scratched very easily and unless you use a case, your phone will have a lot of dents and scratches.

Now, Samsung has finally listened its users and has released the first metallic Galaxy device called Galaxy Alpha. The Galaxy Alpha has metallic bezels, just like the iPhone 5 & 5s and the HTC One M8. The bezels are precisely crafted and give the phone that premium look that everyone wants. But should you buy the Galaxy Alpha? Especially during this part of the year? Here are a few reasons why you should buy and why you shouldn’t buy the Samsung Galaxy Alpha.

Reasons to buy the Samsung Galaxy Alpha

1. It is Samsung’s first metallic phone. The bezels are high quality aluminum which will undoubtedly feel great in the hand. If you like Samsung for the features and options it puts to the devices and want premium quality, this is the ideal phone for you.

2. It is not too big yet not too small. The Galaxy Alpha has a 4.7″ Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels.  It is almost the same size as the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini. Also, the Alpha has an octa-core Exynos 20 nm processor which will provide fast performance without using a lot of battery life.

2. Not the best battery life. The Samsung Galaxy Alpha has a small battery. The battery is only 1860 mAh big. It is even smaller than the 2100 mAh battery of the Galaxy S3 and slightly bigger than the 1650 mAh battery of the Galaxy S2. Even though the Galaxy Alpha has the latest Exynos 20 nm processor, it will not be enough to achieve the excellent battery life of the Samsung Galaxy S5.
