The Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini Black variant (Edition) has just received the goodness of Android 4.4.2 KitKat. The update is available for the Black variant of the Galaxy S4 Mini (GT-I9195). The update comes from a Belgian carrier and the first owners who will enjoy the update will be Belgian residents.
The update for the black variant of the Galaxy S4 Mini is already out and as usual, there are to ways of getting it. The first way is through KIES, where you have to connect your phone to your computer, open KIES and check for a possible firmware update.
Another way besides KIES is OTA update which is Over The Air. To get OTA, go to Settings > About Phone > Status > Software Update and check it. If there is indeed an update for your phone, tap the button “Download” and in a few minutes your phone will have Android 4.4 KitKat.
As for the normal variant of the Galaxy S4 Mini (GT-I9190) the update is expected to roll out later this month so all Galaxy S4 Mini users won’t have to wait for a long time. If you don’t live in Belgium and can’t wait to receive the update, you might as well download the firmware here and flash it via ODIN.
