The new Android 4.4 KitKat version has some cool design changes like the new statusbar which is now transparent and all icons like the clock, battery and signal are completely white.
It is a nice touch in the User Interface experience as it is simpler and cleaner. However, this statusbar is only available for stock versions of Android and not for custom skins like Touchwiz.
If you want this cool statusbar on your Galaxy S4 but want to remain on stock firmware, there is a mod which takes care of this. You can have your stock Touchwiz firmware and at the same time have the KitKat statusbar installed.
This is an interesting mix because TW is full of colors whereas the statusbar is white. Also, you can install Google Play Edition Dialer. It is the same dialer found in the Nexus 5.
