The OnePlus One comes in two variants. Well, the hardware is exactly the same and doesn’t change unlike Samsung phones which the same model has different chipsets. Instead, the only difference is the ROM and firmware.
Most of OnePlus One units come with the popular CyanogenMod 11S (CM11S) which is a modified version of CyanogenMod 11. These devices which come with CM11S are sold directly from the official OnePlus website. The other variant comes with another ROM called Color OS. It is completely different compared to CM11S as this variant looks a lot like iOS.

Most users prefer CM11S over Color OS because it looks like stock Android and overall it offers better performance, less lag and better battery life. But there are a few advantages that Color OS has. One of the advantages that Color OS has over CM11S is the camera app.
The OnePlus One has a great camera. It has a 13 MP sensor which can record UHD 4K videos at 30fps, 1080p and 720p videos in slow motion. Photos captured with the OnePlus One camera are very sharp and videos are high quality with detailed scenes.
No matter what app you use, the camera quality is good. But the camera app that the Color OS variant has is slightly better as it brings better photo quality in low light conditions. That’s why a senior member from XDA has created a mod called CameraNext modded which includes an improved camera app for better performance in low light conditions.

The CameraNext Modded app has 6 different shutter speeds: 1/2, 1, 2, 8, 16, 32 and it offers great quality photos in low light situations.

- You can install the mod as a normal camera app. Make sure to download the APK file and move it to your phone.
- Go to Settings > Security and enable “Unknown Source”. This will let the phone to install the APK file.
- Open the file manager of your phone and navigate to the folder where the file is located.
- Select it and press install.
- Reboot the phone to make sure that the app will work without any problems.
Once the phone boots up, go to the app drawer and launch the new camera app. Enjoy better photo quality on your OnePlus One.
