Get Lock Screen Notifications on Jelly Bean & KitKat (No Root)

Learn how to install new lock screen notifications system on your Android device. Lock screen notifications is a feature presented on iOS 8 and also on Android L. The new system is much more convenient than the old notification system.

The new notification menu or feature is called Android Heads Up on Android L and Interactive Notifications on iOS 8. If you want to enjoy the new lock screen notifications you can do so if you have a Nexus 5 or Nexus 7 and install the Developer Preview of Android L.

If you don’t have a Nexus 5 or Nexus 7, there is another way to enable the new feature on your Android device. You don’t have to install any mods, frameworks and you don’t even have to be rooted. You can get lock screen notifications on your Android phone with a simple app which can be downloaded from the Play Store.

The app enables the same function as Heads Up and Interactive Notifications. Every time you receive a new notification which can be a message, missed call, email and more, you have to unlock your phone, open the notification drawer and then see the received notification.

But with the app, all notifications will be accessible straight from the lock screen. You don’t have to unlock the phone and open the notification menu just to see the missed call or message.

The app interface is very simple and easy to use. To activate it, enable “Notification Access Granted” and “Screen Lock Permission Granted”. These two permissions will allow the app to display all the notifications on the lock screen.

You have the option to black list different apps. If you receive a notification from apps you have blacklisted, they won’t show on the lock screen. The application has an awesome feature where it detects whether the phone is inside your pocket or not. If the phone is inside, the app won’t turn the phone screen on to display the notifications.
