How To Disable Galaxy S6 Flipboard Magazine (Briefing)

Flipboard has quickly become one of the most popular news magazines for mobile device platforms, getting a huge popularity especially from the Android platform, where many OEMs have integrated the application into their own software to bring to the user the latest news and updates from the world and social media.

Samsung is one of the companies that has come with this approach, integrating Flipboard on its news magazine page on the home screen, often called Briefing. This magazine can be accessed by going to the home screen on your Samsung Galaxy S6 or Galaxy S6 edge, and swiping to the last page on the left.

A brand new window will appear with the latest news about business, technology, travel, sports, celebrity, entertainment, style and food. If you don’t want any of these categories to appear on the main screen, tap the three dots icon and uncheck the categories you do not want.

But some of you want to completely remove Flipboard from the home screen. It does use a lot of internet data since it updates frequently with the latest news. Also, we have found it to be sluggish going from the launcher to the magazine page.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 had the option to disable the magazine and the Samsung Galaxy S6 with the Galaxy S6 edge have it too. However, Samsung has changed the settings where you can disable Flipboard magazine screen on the Galaxy S6. Here’s how to disable it.

How To Disable Flipboard News Magazine on Galaxy S6

  1. Go to the home screen of your phone.
  2. Tap and long press until you can edit the home screen pages.
