Lately, users have complained about intrusive ads showing up on their Xiaomi phones. Every time users install a new application, the phone shows a new page with intrusive ads. This has become annoying for many users, as a big number of people have complained about this on Twitter.
According to a Twitter user, most of the ads started appearing after updating to MIUI 10 on all Xiaomi devices. Users are not happy about this and are looking for ways to disable these ads, which appear when installing apps not only from the Mi App store but also from Google Play Store. Luckily, there is a way to disable most of the annoying ads.
How To Disable The Intrusive Ads on Xiaomi Phones
Most of the ads appear when you want to install a new app. Xiaomi shows a new page where it tells users whether the app is safe or not. Just below that it shows a number of annoying ads. In order to prevent this, you have to disable the scanning process of the apps. If you only install apps from known app stores, then there is no risk in turning off this feature.
- Unlock your phone and go to the Settings menu.
- Scroll down to App Settings and tap on System apps.
- Go to Security and find Security Scan.
- Under Virus Definition Settings, tap on Scan before installing to disable it.
Once you disable this option, you will no longer see the annoying ads. If you haven’t updated to MIUI 10 and do not want to face these ads, wait and do not update just yet.
Another way to get rid of the ads is to install a new custom ROM altogether. Many users have installed Lineage OS which is based on stock Android AOSP builds. It offers better performance and an ad-free experience.
