Flash Android 5.0.1 Lollipop Firmware & Root Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 (No Knox Trigger 0x0)

The Samsung Galaxy S4 has been enjoying the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for a while now and users have been very happy. Based on the feedback given by thousands of users, the Lollipop firmware is the best update that the Samsung Galaxy S4 has ever received.

Even though Lollipop brings a plethora of new features and options like a new user interface based on Material Design, slimmed down TouchWiz and better performance, it gets boring very quickly. Once you have discovered all the new settings, there is nothing you can do with the phone anymore to keep you entertained. At this stage, root comes into the game. Root unlocks endless possibilities to customize your Samsung Galaxy S4. You can install special third-party apps that require root access, install custom recoveries and then completely customize the way your phone looks.

Rooting the Samsung Galaxy S4 with Android 5.0 Lollipop is very simple. However, rooting the Galaxy S4 on Lollipop without tripping Knox is not easy. Knox is a software feature that Samsung includes on its devices to make them more secure. But Knox also knows when you root your Galaxy S4. When this happens, we say that Knox has been triggered. This voids the warranty and if you send your phone to the service to get it fixed, it won’t be covered by the warranty because Knox is triggered and has gone from 0x0 to 0x1

Luckily, a developer has found a way to root the Samsung Galaxy S4 with official Touchwiz Lollipop firmware. Carefully follow the guide below to learn how to root the Galaxy S4, easy and fast.

  1. Hi Ronaldo, nice tutorial not so hard to follow, but I got stuck on step 6 of
    “Flashing Android 5.0.1 Lollipop Firmware”.
Mobile Odin Pro does not run on un-rooted devices and at that point, just after a factory reset the phone is not yet rooted to allow running Mobile Odin Pro. That is the error message it sends when I try to open the app.
So I am sure I am missing something. Can you tell me what I am missing, please?
