CyanogenMod 13 Marshmallow Comes To OnePlus 2 Alongside CM12.1

The OnePlus 2 didn’t have the fate of the original OnePlus One to arrive with CyanogenMod out of the box. OnePlus One gained popularity for being a cheap and powerful phone with CyanogenMod 11s pre-installed.

The OnePlus 2 comes with OxygenOS based on Android 5.1 but this is about to change very soon. According to a GitHub repository, CyanogenMod is being built for the OnePlus 2 and will be available soon. CyanogenMod is a custom ROM based on stock Android designed to enhance the performance of the phone. It comes with extra features and adds stability to the phone.

However, if you want to flash CyanogenMod on your OnePlus 2, you have to root the device and flash a custom recovery. This means that your warranty might get voided because this process is not supported by the company.

If you are still interested in installing the ROM, you will get two choices. You can either flash CyanogenMod 12.1 based on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop or the new CyanogenMod 13 build based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. No matter which ROM you install, you will be granted to more features and better performance. Stay tuned for more because a full installation guide will be available on the site once the ROM comes out.
