Update Yu Yureka To Marshmallow With CyanogenMod 13 ROM

Yu Yureka is a phone that not all know about. It comes with some decent specifications and it is a very good device considering the price tag the phone has. The phone features a 5.5″ HD IPS LCD touchscreen, Snapdragon 615 SoC with Adreno 405 GPU, 13 MP camera, 5 MP front camera and a 2500 mAh battery. CyanogenMod 12.1 Lollipop ROM comes preloaded on the phone, and now you can upgrade to CyanogenMod 13.

Unfortunately, this is not an official build from Yu or CyanogenMod. It is a build created by recognized developer Santhosh M. CM13 is the latest iteration of CyanogenMod and it’s based on Marshmallow. CM13 for Yu Yureka is still a work in progress which means there are bugs and issues that have to be fixed.

Overall, the majority of settings and features are working. You can use WiFi, Bluetooth, RIL (phone calls, SMS), camera, video recording, stock apps and more. Regular CyanogenMod features are working including Theme Engine.

How To Install CyanogenMod 13 on Yu Yureka

Download CyanogenMod 13 ROM for Yu Yureka and move it to the internal storage. Download Android 6.0 Marshmallow Google Gapps and transfer the zip file to your phone as well. You also need to install TWRP recovery so you can flash the ROM and Marshmallow Gapps.

1. Press and hold the power button to turn the phone off.

2. Use your preferred method to boot into recovery mode.

3. Perform a full Nandroid backup before flashing the ROM.

4. Wipe data, cache and dalvik cache to prevent any possible issues.

5. Flash CM13 first and then Marshmallow Gapps.

Now restart the phone and wait for it to boot up. You will be greeted with the new Marshmallow set up screen.
