Tips To Increase LG G4 Battery Life And Make It Last Longer

Battery life is often one of the most important characteristics of a mobile phone, and it is a strong feature on the LG G4, at least compared to other phones. Unlike its main competitor which includes a smaller battery, the LG G4 comes with the same battery size (3000 mAh) as the LG G3. This amount of juice is often enough to last throughout an entire day, and LG G4 users are certainly happy.

Good battery performance doesn’t mean it is perfect. It can get better. LG G4 comes with useful features which you might use. If you do not use them, then it becomes a problem because these features are enabled by default, resulting in draining battery. Here are a few tips to improve and reduce battery drain on LG G4.

Install Snapdragon BatteryGuru

Snapdragon BatteryGuru is an app developed by the creators of Snapdragon, the chip inside the LG G4. It monitors your phone’s activity and learns your usage pattern to improve battery life. It gives you a list of all installed applications. You can choose refresh rate for each application:

  1. Based on how you use it (saves battery)
  2. When it wants (uses most battery)
  3. Only when you open it (uses minimal battery)

Disable Vibration Motor

Every mobile phone has a vibration motor which kicks in when vibration mode is activated or when features like ‘vibrate on tap’ are activated. Every time you tap something on the screen, the phone vibrates. The vibration motor is a known cause to drain battery juice.

  1. Go to the app drawer and open the settings app.
  2. Go to Sounds & Notifications.
  3. Tap on More.
  4. There is an option called ‘Vibrate on tap’. Tap on it to disable the option.

Disable App Sync

When you create a new account on your phone, it automatically has sync enabled with various applications. This is a useful feature if you want to have all application data up to date, but not useful if you appreciate battery life more. You can decide which accounts have sync activity enabled and which not.

  1. Go to Settings and tap on General.
  2. Go to Accounts & Syncs.
  3. Select the account you want and tap on it.
  4. You will get a list of all applications which are synced to the account.
  5. Tap on each box to disable sync.

Enable LG G4 Power Saving Mode

This is the most obvious thing to do if you want better battery life on your LG G4. The phone, as nearly all other competitors, features a power saving mode. When this mode is activated, it reduces power consumption by limiting CPU power, and also reducing background activity.

  1. Go to Settings and tap on General.
  2. Go to Battery & Power Saving.
  3. Tap on ‘Battery Saver at 15%’.
  4. If you want to optimize battery usage while gaming, enable ‘Gamer Optimizer’.

Follow these simple solutions and you will notice a slight battery improvement on your LG G4.
