Viper4Android is one of the best audio mods for Android devices. It aims to make sound experience much better than what already is. OEMs work really hard to produce high-quality devices. However, they forget one thing that is very important, audio quality. While other specifications might be important for many users, audio quality should not be left behind. That is why developers have created Viper4Android. This is a popular mod for Android devices which improves audio quality in many directions.
Viper4Android is the most popular audio mod because it offers many features. Playback gain control is used to make headphones quieter or louder, FireEqualizer is used to get better sound from the main speaker of the phone, Viper-DDC produces balanced audio from your headphones, Headphone Surround makes the surround sound even more noticeable for your listening pleasure and Fidelity Control gives more bass and makes audio clearer.

Recently, the mod was updated to work on Android 5.0 Lollipop because as we all know, Lollipop introduced the new ART runtime system which required all apps to be updated to support the new environment. Even though Viper4Android audio mod was updated to support all Lollipop requirements, it didn’t include the beautiful Material Design.
The mod didn’t include the long-awaited Material Design because the developer of the mod was busy and has currently stopped development of the app. Still, other members of the forum took the mod and modified it to include some Material Design goodness. It is the same as the official mod but it has Material Design UI instead of the old theme.

How to install Viper4Android audio mod
You need to have a phone running on Android 5.0 Lollipop. Also, NuPlayer should be disabled. If for any reason it is enabled on your phone, go to Settings > Developer Options and uncheck “NuPlayer”.
The mod comes in two variants. The first one is Material Dark and the second one is Material Light (White). You can install the APK file or flash the zip file in recovery.
Install Viper4Android Material Design APK
- Download mod APK file: Dark APK | Light APK (source)
- Go to Settings > Security and enable “Unknown Sources”.
- Move the APK file to your internal storage and install the app.
Install Viper4Android Material Design ZIP
- Download mod zip file: Dark ZIP | Light ZIP
- Move the zip file to you phone and boot into recovery.
- Flash the zip file and reboot your phone.
You have successfully install V4A audio mod. Enjoy better sound quality on your phone. Also, you can check out here the original non-modified mod file from the original developer.
Did no work for me!
Installed “ViPER4Android_FX_Material_Dark.apk” on a Nexus 6 running Android 5.0.1. Started playing music from a JetAudio player. Opened the Viper4Android GUI and enabled the sound processor. The sound stopped immediately . Had no sound. Restarted the device. The sound was back again. Viper4Android stayed enabled. But changing settings did not have any effect. So, for me, Viper4Android was not working as expected. Of course, I had NuPlayer disabled.
Uninstalled and played back all system settings from a backup.
